Non-Resident Work Visa Health Insurance (a type of extended travel insurance) is available for non-residents who are visiting New Zealand on a work permit of less than 2 years. The policy is basically a combination of health and travel insurance in one policy.
 
The premium is paid in one lump sum in advance. The product,  tailored to the needs of the individual, may or may not generally cover the following types of events:

• evacuation to home country if required

• hospitalisation costs

• travel cancellation expenses

• personal accident

• personal liability

• car rental excess

These policies will have specified terms and conditions that the individual will need to be aware of before accepting and taking out the policy.
